The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) intend to procure from Life Technologies corp. the following:  eight hundred and thirty-five (835) each of 12347019 293FECTIN, 1 ML. Transfection Reagent.  This reagent is specific for suspension 293 cell lines.  It provides the highest yields of protein expression for the 293 freestyle system of suspension 293 cells.  These cells are transfected with plasmid DNA using the 293fectin reagent.  The Vaccine Research Center has been using this reagent from Life Technologies and it has proven to support high production of the proteins that are required for its protocols in the development of vaccines for HIV and other viruses.  It is essential to maintain past reagent protocols and standards to ensure experimental results are not influenced by other variable.
