The work to be performed consists, in general, of installing two Traffic Signal, Lighting, Synchronization Systems at the intersections of Snow Road at Jewetta Avenue, and Snow Road at Norris Road/Verdugo Lane, installing a traffic synchronization system on Jewetta Avenue between the signals at Snow Road at Jewetta Avenue and at Olive Drive and Jewetta Avenue. The project also consists of a synchronization system on Snow Road from between the signals at Snow Road at Norris Road and Snow Road at Calloway Drive then south on Calloway Drive to the signal on Calloway Drive and Norris Road, as well as an access ramp, minor traffic pavement marking, traffic pavement striping and marking modifications and the removal and replacement of existing roadside signs. The City of Bakersfield shall furnish the following equipment for the installation of the traffic signal and lighting system as shown on the plans and in these special provisions: 1) The signal standards, signal mast arms, luminaire mast arms, 1A poles, and corresponding connection hardware, anchor and mast arm mounting bolts at all pole locations as shown on the plans. The signal standards, mast arms and associated hardware are manufactured per the 2010 State Standard Plans and Specifications and shall be installed under the 2010 Plans and Specifications. 2) The signal controller cabinets and corresponding internal equipment unless otherwise shown on the plans and special provisions will be City furnished. 3) The Vehicle Pre-Emption system. 4) The Encom Radio system. 5) Autoscope Duo Video/Radar Sensor, cables and mounting hardware. Note: The Contractor shall provide and pay for all required field on site cable connections, wire harness, software programming for the EVP, and Radio system products, and shall be complete in place and performed by a trained and qualified manufacture Technician from each manufacturer and which costs are considered part of each traffic signal installation. (Refer to Payment clause of Section 7-2.24). 6) Overhead mast arm mounted street name signs and mounting brackets. During the bidding of this project, contractors who have questions or desire clarifications about the bid documents, must submit those questions or requests for clarifications in writing using the form provided in the bid documents. Said questions and requests for clarifications must be submitted by the date identified in the project schedule in Section 4 of these Special Provisions.
