Notice of Intent: The USDA, ARS, SEA intends to award a sole source procurement to DeVires Manufacturing,86956 Hwy 251 Hollandale, MN 56045, as they are the sole source for this type Generation Ill Research Track Sprayer equipment pursuant to the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(l) and FAR 6.302-1,Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy agency Requirements. The award will be for a greenhouse research track spray chamber that will be required to apply specified quantities of chemicals or other liquids to plants. The sprayer must be capable of simulating a rainfall event, while allowing a.djustment of pressure, nozzle height, speed, and travel distance. Our specific research requires an instrument of this design so pesticides can be applied in a controlled environment and capable of treating a variety of plant sizes and quantities. DeVries Manufacturing is the sole source of this type of research track spray chamber that can satisfy all of the above criteria and meet the requirements of our specific research. The Government intends to award a firm fixed price Purchase Order, subject to the availability of funds, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This Notice of Intent is not considered a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a Request for Proposals (RFP). No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will consider all responses received by 11:00AM central time, June 16, 2017.
