This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number HSCG80-10-Q-P45AA4 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). HSCG80-10-Q-P45AA4 and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-38. This requirement is being solicited under full and open competition using Simplified Acquisition Procedures as per FAR Subpart 13.5. The government intends to award from this solicitation to the responsible vendor whose quote conforming to the solicitation provides the best value. The Government contemplates award of a firm-fixed-price contract resulting from this solicitation. The anticipated award date is on or about March 26, 2010. Work covered by this solicitation shall be completed within fifteen (15) calendar days from the date the vessel becomes available to the contractor. The requirement is to prepare the USCGC SAPELO (WPB-1314), a 110 foot patrol boat, for transit under tow and to provide towing service from the vessel’s current location, Tampa, FL, to the Coast Guard Yard, Baltimore, MD.
