The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order to Terry Schulze, 9 Evergreen Court, Perrineville, NJ 08535, for locating and identifying suitable tick habitat, marking plots, flagging for questioning ticks; distribute bait boxes on property; animal trapping; process mammal and tick specimens for infection; perform statistical analysis; and provide monthly written report of results to CDC to reduce the risk of Lyme Disease. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source will satisfy the Agency's requirements because this is the only service that can meet the requirements of studies being performed in northeastern United States, specifically focusing on states with the highest reported cases of Lyme Disease in the United States. No solicitation is being issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals, however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which, if received by the response date, shall be considered by the Agency. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within discretion of the Government.
