This proposed action is for 7,500 Thermoluminescent Dosimeters (TLD) Badges. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(c).
This proposed procurement will be a Sole Source under North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) 334519. Size standard is 500 employees.
The proposed source is Panasonic Corporation of North America, 1 Panasonic Way, Secaucus, NJ 07094-2917. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, quotation or exception to the intent to purchase on a sole source basis, which shall be considered by the Government if received within three (5) days of this notice. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
To comply with FAR 5.207(c)(15): The Government has a requirement for 7,500 TLD badges. The government requires the purchase of 7,500 TLD Badges for use within the U.S. Air Force Personnel Ionizing Radiation Dosimetry program for medico-legal does of record measurements. The TLD physical configuration must be compatible and can be read by a Panasonic UD-7900M Automatic TLD Reader. Panasonic is the sole distributor and only known vendor of compatible TLD badges.
The Department of Defense (DoD) has determined the System for Award Management (SAM) to be the single DoD registration for contractors who conduct business or who are interested in conducting business with the DoD.
