The National Institutes of Health, Office of Acquisitions Station Support Simplified Acquisitions Branch on behalf of the National Eye Institute (NEI) intends to negotiate, on a non-competitive basis, with SR Research, 150 Terence Matthews Crescent, Unit A, Kanata, ON K2M 1X4, CAN. This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 12 - Acquisition for Commercial Items and will be made pursuant to the authority of FAR 13.106-1 (b)(1) and FAR 13.501 (a)(1) to use Simplified Acquisition Procedure for commercial items. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding availability and capability from qualified small business organizations to provide the services stated herein. All small business organizations ( SB, SDB, WOSB, HUBZone, VOSB, and SDVOSB) are encouraged to respond to this notice.

The North American Industry Classification System Code for this acquisition is 541720 and the size standard is $7.0 M.

The National Eye Institute requires the continuation to examine the process action potential generated by neurons in the cerebral cortex of awake behaving Rhesus monkeys. This will be recorded while the animal performs stereoscopic discrimination tasks.

No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses submitted to [email protected] on or before 10:00 AM EST, Thursday, July 14, 2011. All information furnished must be in writing and must contain sufficient detail. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
