The Village of Westmont will receive sealed bids for “THE 57TH STREET STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT”; at the Village of Westmont Public Works Building,155 East Burlington Avenue, Westmont, Illinois 60559 until 9:00 am Friday, March 24, 2023 and at that time bids will be publicly opened and unit price total read aloud. Description of Work. The proposed construction consists of approximately 569 LF of new 24” diameter HDPE storm sewer, 397 LF of new 12” diameter storm sewer, miscellaneous concrete work and asphalt patching and landscape restoration. Not less than the prevailing rate of wages as determined by the Department of Labor or determined by the court on review shall be paid to all laborers, workmen and mechanics performing work under this contract. The Village of Westmont is exempt from the Illinois State, municipal or county Retailers Occupation Tax, Service Occupation Tax, Use Tax, and Service Use Tax as described in Illinois Compiled Statute Chapter 35. Bid prices shall not include the cost of such taxes. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bidder's bond, certified check, bank cashier's check or bank draft payable to the Village of Westmont for ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Bid as provided in the Bidder Instructions. There is no scheduled Pre-Bid Meeting. 4. Rejection of bids. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive technicalities.
