This publication serves as a notice of intent to negoiate a sole source contract with Kanoglu Utku for NOAA, Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL) for verification and testing of the current version of the most ( method of splitting tsunamis ) model by Dr. Utku Kanoglu by applying the standards and procedures previously identified for successful tsunami modeling activities to verify and test the newest version of the Method of Splitting Tsunamis (MOST) model, version 3. Dr. Kanoglu will perfonn verification and run tests on this model version so that it may be successfully incorporated into the operational forecast system under development for NOAA's two Tsunami Warning Centers. Model verifications and test applications are especially demanding and difficult, and require the attention of an experienced tsunami modeler with solid theoretical background. This is not a request for proposals, however, proposals received within 15 days of this publication will be considered by the government.
