The Physician shall be responsible for the supply of materials, delivery, coordination and incidentals necessary for the Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) Consulting Agreement as described in the IFB solicitation package. The Services shall include and consist of the following: Physician will provide evaluation, consultation and recommendations regarding Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) protocol. (Example: a needle stick, blood exposure, lab results with a follow up process.) Physician will participate in facility quality monitoring programs or meetings when the expertise of an Infectious Disease Specialist would be an asset to improving the quality of the program and meeting. Physician will provide Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) education and in-services to facility staff within a reasonable time after a request of the facility EMS Chief. (Example: EMS-Fire Department education seminar and/or meeting.) Physician shall be available to respond to questions, offer recommendations, order prophylaxis medication initiation, necessary baseline labs as needed and will address the concerns from facility staff as requested 24/7/365. (24 hours a day/ 7 days a week/ 365 days a year) Physician shall return phone calls directly associated with significant exposures within fifteen (15) minutes of notification by the department. Physician agrees to perform services in a timely manner and within the best of the Physicianâs ability in the best interest of the county. The Physician and facility should be centrally located for the safety and protection of Fire Department personnel.
