The United States Air Force (USAF) intends to award a sole-source contract to Teradyne Inc. The USAF requires Flexible IO Instrument and Cable Assembly with the specification below:

Teradyne, Inc. is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of this equipment and has no authorized resellers for these items. All equipment are strictly managed and require prior approval to be used in a VDATS station. Any deviation will result in violation of Technical Order (TO) 51V10-1-13-1.

Any other vendor would require significant research and development to provide Flexible IO Instrument and Cable Assembly hardware identical in form, fit and function to what Teradyne Inc. can provide that has prior approval to be used in a VDATS stations.
