Request for Proposals Repainting the Historic Telluride Courthouse Front Steps Project Description Location: 305 West Colorado Ave, Telluride, CO 81435 The San Miguel County Parks & Open Space department is seeking qualified bidders to repaint and seal the historic concrete front steps of the historic Telluride Courthouse, 305 West Colorado Ave, Telluride, CO 81435. The project will include all preparations necessary to prepare, repaint and seal the steps, and protect the historic nature of the concrete and surrounding materials. The contractor must match the existing historic concrete steps look, as close as possible to existing conditions. Contractor must also provide all labor and materials necessary, excluding the paint and sealant to complete the job. The paint and sealant will be provided by the County. Refinishing must be completed by November 1st, 2024. The county was created in 1861 and San Miguel City was selected as the county seat. The first courthouse was a two-story brick structure located on the southwest corner of Colorado Avenue and Fir Street in 1885 to 1886. In 1887, San Miguel City changed its name to Telluride. The courthouse was destroyed by a fire on January 13, 1887 and the second and present courthouse was constructed in 1887. Scope of Services San Miguel County requests proposals include: Protect all surrounding surfaces including railings, historic stonework and wood trim. Carefully remove the old paint and acid etch the stairs in preparation for the new paint Repaint and seal the front steps/stairs Clean up and remove materials after project completion, the courthouse should be in visitor ready condition A pre-bid site visit at the courthouse location is mandatory in order to respond to this RFP.
