NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation/synopsis reference number 216482326264 is being issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ) and incorporates the following with the word “quoter” substituted for “offeror”. Provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-18. AFN will distribute the programming by encrypted, digitally compressed satellite transmission system (currently Scientific Atlanta's PowerVu Plus (MPEG-2)) and/or by mail to authorized AFN television outlets outside the contiguous United States for their non-commercial distribution/presentation via television broadcast frequencies, encrypted, digitally compressed satellite transmission, and/or limited closed-circuit distribution systems. FOB Destination. The government intends to award a sole source contract to Entertainment Associates, for broadcast rights to its television programming. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government to compete this solicitation will be based upon responses to this notice at the sole discretion of the Government.
