The decision to set aside this procurement as 100% 8(a) small business set-aside was made resulting from Market Research. Previous procurements for this service have shown that there is an expectation to receive quotes from two or more 8(a) contractors.
THIS IS A SYNOPSIS NOTICE ONLY for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format and procedures in FAR Part 12, FAR Part 15, and FAR Part 19 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. MSC intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract with a one-year base period and (4) four one-year option periods. This is not a Request for Quote/Proposal/Bid and no contract or purchase order will be awarded as a result of this notice. There is no solicitation, specifications, or drawings available at this time.
The Engineering Department of Military Sealift Command (MSC) requires the Technical Documentation Branch to provide MSC administrative, data management and technical support of the engineering library. This includes the MSC Virtual Technical Library system (VTL), an electronic repository and management system for technical manuals, drawings, engineering designs, engineering and technical references. The Contractor shall provide the MSC Engineering Department (N7) administrative support, data management support, and technical support for the engineering library. The VTL system is an electronic repository and document management systems. The VTL manages technical manuals, drawings, engineering designs, engineering and technical references for all MSC vessels.
