Coin Album: An archival quality, acid-free 7-1/4â x 8-7/8â x 1-1/8â, two-post binder with six (6) removable hinged album pages. Flat Size: 15-13/16â x 8-7/8â.
The first album page has seven (7) coin ports within and the other five (5) album pages contain nine (9) coin ports. See Attachment A page 1 for a visual of mock-up. Each coin must fit snugly into a 34mm window showing both obverse and reverse through clear acetate slides, which protect the coins. Each coin port is imprinted in Metallic Gold, Pantone 871, to identify each coin. A Quark XPress 5.0 document on Mac 10.2 system has been provided with a complete list of 43 names and dates that are required to be imprinted under each port.
Cover Material: FiberMark DSI, 7 point, âKivar 7 Nowâ covering material, with Llama embossing, Patriot Blue(704) Color.
Board material for covers shall be 90 point (.090) Kappa graphics board. Turned edge album construction.
Foil Stamping: Cover to gold foil stamp four (4) lines of text and a fine detail seal, stamp in Crown Roll Leaf 470 Gold. The approximate foil stamping area is 3-1/2â x 6-1/8â. Seal art is provided on floppy as an Adobe Illustrator 10.0 eps file. Contractor to set all type as per sample and combine with seal art provided.
Spine to gold foil stamp four (4) lines of text, stamp in Crown Roll Leaf 470 Gold. The approximate foil stamping area is 3/4â x 6-3/4â.
Album Pages Material: FiberMark DSI, 7 point, âKivar 7 Nowâ covering material, with Llama embossing, Patriot Blue(704) Color. Material to be adhered on both sides of the Kappa board in a pattern glue formation. No wrinkles or marring shall be accepted on the Kivar material. Album pages have three (3) thumb notches that are 5/8â wide x 1/4â deep. See Sample. Album pages have rounded corners.
Endleaf Material: Rainbow by Ecological Fibers, #80 Endleaf, Color - âFlag Bâ, Antique finish. Material must be acid free and lignin free. Securely glue endleaves to inside of binder.
Screw Posts: Each coin album requires two (2), ¾â gold-finished (brass) screw posts, spaced 5â apart on center.
âCâ Channel: All album pages are held into the binder by a plastic âCâ channel which must be died in color to match the dark blue custom cover material color.
Dimensions of âCâ Channel overall flat: 2-1/8â x 8-1/2â, 35-40 gauge (.035 - .040) requires two heat scores and drilled with four holes.
The âCâ channel to be held into the binder by two (2) gold-finished (brass) rivets, star set, spaced 6-1/16â apart on center.
Acetate Slides: The album requires 40 PETG, (Poly ethylene terephthalate glycol) slides of 10.0 mil clear acetate, 6â x 1-5/8â, must be PVC-free. Place one (1) kraft slip-sheet between each slide for protection.
The slide must cover the entire row of coin ports and must fit easily under the covering material on both sides of the coin. Two of the corners must be 3/8â rounded.
Graphic board: Each album page shall be constructed of 105 point (.105) Kappa graphic board, sulfur-free, one-piece. The hinge extension of each album page shall be constructed of the same 105 point (.105) Kappa graphic board. The hinge board is 5/8â wide; the material gap is approximately 3/16â.
Envelope: #24, 5-1/4â x 7-1/4â White, open end (Announcement Style A-7) envelope. Sample in Coin Album. Prints type and line art in Pantone 288 Blue on the face of envelope. Center image on envelope. Artwork file provide in Adobe PageMaker 7.0 on Mac 9.2 system. All 40 acetate slides and slip sheets are to be inserted into the envelope. Drill two holes in top of envelope to accommodate the two screw posts
Envelope to be placed after the last album page into the âCâ- channel and two (2) seat posts.
Finishing: Place a piece of 7â x 8-1/2â tissue paper in the front end, (between cover 2 and the first album page) and a piece to the back end, (between last album page and cover 3).
Shrink wrap each coin album after completion.
Contractor shall be required to construct and assemble all components of the coin album.
Interested contractor must contact Hampton RPPO, in order to receive a faxed copy of the complete specification. Quotes must be in the Hampton RPPO office before 11 am on October 22, 2003.
