Notice of Intent to award a Sole Source Procurement. The Government intends to issue a sole source purchase order for Dish Network Television services in accordance with FAR part 12 regulations, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The service will include the following packages: Dish CD (Public/Private), Max View (Public/Private), Private Plus (Private Only), News & Finance (Public/Private), Local Networks (Public/Private), Altitude Sports & Entertainment (Private), and Sports Package 2 (Private). The award will go to Echostar Communications Corporation, 9601 S Meridian Blvd, Englewood, CO, 80112-5905. The period of performance shall be 10/01/05 – 9/30/06 at Buckley AFB CO 80011-9551. This requirement is considered sole source due to the fact that Buckley AFB CO currently has Dish Network service and equipment through Echostar Communications and changing contractors would result in significant re-occurring costs and downtime to the government. The 460th Contracting Squadron intends to award a purchase order by other than full and open competition in accordance with Subpart 6.302-1 (a)(2), "Only One Responsible Source and no Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements."
