The USDA, Forest Service intends to procure a nation wide (continental U.S.) seamless mosaick 1 meter resolution, natural color, orthorectified imagery data set, including metadata, which consists of the newest available existing data. The data set is made up of Digital Orthophoto Quarter Quadrangle (DOQQ) files and National Agricultural Imagery Program (NAIP) imagery. The imagery must be georeferenced, seamless mosaicked, tone balanced, and natural color. These are unique value added features that are not characteristics of the raw DOQQ and NAIP data components. The rectified imagery data set will be updated, at least annually, through a maintenance agreement.
The data are licensed for use by Forest Service personnel, and cooperators, and will be distributed through the I-Cubed Data Doors interface in the FSGeodata Geospatial Clearinghouse. The cost is $148,975, with an annual maintenance cost of 30% of the purchase price - $44,692.50.
