The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineering Research and Development Center – Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (ERDC-CERL) in Champaign, IL has a requirement for one (1) Alpha-Step D600 Stylus Profiler.
ERDC-CERL intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to Vacuum One Inc in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).
Market research indicates that Vacuum One Inc is the only source for this requirement because The Alpha-Step D-600 stylus profiler manufactured by KLA-Tencor offers high resolution 2D & 3D profiling, 2D stress, profile stitching, and many other features in an easy-to-use platform with the ability to measure from nanometer to millimeter with angstrom resolution. Market research has found no other commercially available system that offers this same combination of features. These other features include:
Market research confirms that KLA does not sell directly to the government but instead uses a network of distributors with one organization assigned to each region of the United States. The Midwest region distributor is Vacuum One Inc. Therefore, Vacuum One Inc is the sole source vendor for this procurement.
This is not a small business set aside.
