This announcement is a Sources Sought Notice to establish market research. This is not a Request for Quote (RFQ) or Request for Proposal (RFP). This announcement is to obtain information for planning purposes and not to be interpreted as a commitment by the Government as implied or otherwise to issue a solicitation or award a contract.
Scope of Work: Contractor will manufacture one (1) B Hut 16'x32' made of Structural Insulating Panels (SIPs) and package the components in a 20 foot Sea Container for delivery (container will be kept by Buyer) to Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
Structure must be easily assembled and disassembled (by 4 personnel within 4 hours) under austere conditions, without special tools, able to be packed within a 20 foot shipping container, and able to withstand wear, pressure, and damage caused by weather and handling over many years.
Design Specifications are as follows:
• 16' X 32' structure
• 7' interior vertical clearance
• Foundation: self-squaring, easily leveled, light weight, water resistant FRP tubes
• Building envelope: energy efficient Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPs).
o Roof and Walls: R-27
o Floor: R-37
• Lighting: impact resistant plastic windows
• Beam specifications:
o Flexural Strength: 33,000 PSI
o Anticipated Deflection: 0.215 in
Detailed Description
Panels:
• 856 Sq. Ft. OSB-2145 PUR/W (4-5/8" OSB/Foam/OSB, R-27) wall panels with cam-lock connectors and no wiring chase; shed roof design; interior of panels to be painted white
• 648 Sq. Ft. OSB-2145 PUR/R (4-5/8" OSB/Foam/OSB, R-27) roof panels with cam-lock connectors; at least 1' overhangs for gabels and eaves; interior of panels to be painted white
• 512 Sq. Ft. OSB-2165 PUR/F (6-5/8" OSB/Foam/OSB, R-41) floor panels with cam-lock connectors; 16' x 32'; assumes 16' long panels spanning beams on 8' centers
