The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Laboratory Sciences (DLS) - Emergency Response Branch intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price contract, to procure the Stratasys F370 Fused Deposition Modeling System to Stratasys, 7665 Commerce Way, Eden Prairie, MN 55344.
The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1) in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. The NAICS code for this procurement is 333517 Machine and Tool Manufacturing with size standard of 500 employees.
This sole source acquisition is required because the Emergency Response Branch has been using filament deposition modeling (FDM) to produce custom lab fixtures since 2016. The Stratasys F370 has several key features not found together on other similar FDM systems that address the program's needs for increased fixture accuracy, precision, durability and size. The F370 also has four resolution modes as well as fast-draft mode for rapid and economical protyping in PLA material. Finally the 370 has a built in camera system that allows users to monitor production status and address production issues quickly and safely.
No solicitation will be posted to FedBizOpps. This notice of intent is not a request for quote. A determination by the government not to compete the proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
