The City of Safford will receive sealed bids on a general contract for the Stone Willow and 20th Street Sewer Project, City of Safford Project No. 67-731. All bids must be presented on the prescribed forms included in the contract documents. A sealed original hard copy of the contractor’s bids for the described work will be received by the City Clerk at City Hall for the City of Safford, at 717 West Main Street, Safford, Arizona 85546 until Monday, March 30, 2020, at 2:00 p.m., after which sealed bids will be opened and read aloud in the office of the City Clerk. Electronic copies of bids shall not be accepted, in addition, bids received after the bid due date and time will not be accepted and will be returned unopened. A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at the City of Safford Mesa Yard Office Complex, 405 West Discovery Park Boulevard, Safford, Arizona 85546. Prospective bidders are required to attend. LOCATION AND DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF CONSTRUCTION WORK UNDER THIS PROJECT: The purpose of the Stone Willow Sewer portion of the project is to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, traffic control and incidentals required for the installation of a 60-inch diameter sewer manhole over the existing 15-inch diameter sewer in 14th Avenue. The new manhole base will be poured around the existing 15-inch diameter and 12-inch diameter sewer pipes. The new manhole will be constructed with a slide gate to limit the quantity sewer flow into the existing 12-inch diameter sewer pipe. The purpose of the 20th Street Sewer portion of the project is to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, traffic control and incidentals required for the installation of 205 linear feet of 12-inch diameter sewer main along with one 60-inch diameter sewer manhole. Modifications will also be made to the two existing sewer manholes, one at the beginning and one at the end of the proposed sewer main line. Both portions of the project shall include all excavation, bedding, backfill, pavement, and patching necessary to complete the work in accordance with the project plans and specifications. Additional improvements as shown on the Drawings and noted in the Specifications shall be required.
