The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Leica Biosystems Richmond, Inc., Richmond, IL 60071 pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is a Stereotaxic Instrument consisting of one (1) each of the following: #39464610 Angle Two Stereotaxic Instrument w/Mouse Atlas Product; #39464682 Software for Angle Two; #39463011 Rat Adapter Kit w/45 d Non-Puncture Earbars; #39464678 Video Microscope for Angle Two; #39462901 Nanoinjector, Stepper Motorized; #39464023 Gas Anesthesia Adapter for Rat; and #39462948 Gas Adapter Plate for Adult Mice. System is required to secure anesthetized animals during brain surgery using a 3D coordinates system. System must include digital angling, internal trigonometry function, and fine drive on the vertical axis. System must accept input from 5 sensors and the target coordinates in Skull Flat and Bregma standard references can be referenced in the on-screen atlas. If no affirmative responses are received within 8 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, the order will be issued to Leica Biosystems Richmand, Inc.
