labor, material and equipment, services required for construction, testing, and commissioning of the Project in accordance with the Contract Documents and as more specifically described in the Specifications and Drawings and includes, but is not limited to, the following principal features. 1. Construction of all new facilities related to the 3.0 MGD surface water treatment plant on the Stearns Meadow Property, which includes, but is not limited to: a. Site preparation, including tree clearing. b. Treatment building, including the treatment process area, laboratory, administrative offices, and garage. Treatment process includes: 1) Flocculation Mixing 2) Plate Settler Clarification 3) Granular Activated Carbon Gravity Filtration 4) Chlorine Disinfection 5) Manganese Contactors 6) Chemical feed systems include: • Sodium Hypochlorite • Sodium Hydroxide • Polyaluminium Chloride • Sodium Fluoride • Hydrochloric Acid • Sodium Chlorite • Chlorine Dioxide c. Recycle pump station. d. Pipe storage shed. e. Two sand drying beds. f. Installation of a new electrical and gas service. g. Relocation of analyzers from existing Old Oaken Bucket Water Treatment Plant to the new Stearns Meadow Water Treatment Plant h. Sitework, including stormwater controls, septic system, parking lot, walkway and driveway area, retaining walls, fencing, landscaping and vehicular gates. 2. and all material and equipment, construction and services inherent to the Work. 3. Alternates (if awarded by Owner) Alternate A – Upgrades at the existing Old Oaken Bucket Raw Water Pump Station, which includes, but is not limited to, the following. a. Replacement of the existing roof and installation of 3 new roof hatches b. Replacement of existing raw water pumps with 3 new pumps c. Installation of new electrical platform and electrical equipment upgrades d. Installation of a dedicated electrical and gas service e. New dedicated emergency generator f. Interior HVAC improvements g. Controls improvements h. New raw water main to connect to the previously installed raw water main i. Sitework, including fencing and restoration 4. Alternate B – Demolition of the existing Old Oaken Bucket Water Treatment Plant, which includes, but is not limited to, the following: a. Deenergize electrical equipment associated with demolition b. Perform hazardous materials survey prior to demolition c. Demolition and disposal of the Old Oaken Bucket Water Treatment Plant Process Building d. Demolition and disposal of paved driveway and parking areas e. Excavation, disposal, backfilling, and restoration of the existing lagoon f. Remove and dispose of top 3 feet to expose existing underground storage tanks and fill tanks with crushed stone g. Abandon underground utilities in place h. Remove and dispose of existing chain link fence i. Restoration of all disturbed areas with loam and seed B. Work Site locations: generally as shown on the Drawings. C. Work By Others: 1. The following work will be performed by the Engineer, Woodard & Curran, Inc. a. PLC Programming b. OIT Programming c. HMI Programming d. Electrical Study (short circuit and arc flash) 2. The following work at the Stearns Meadow Water Treatment Plant will be performed by the electric utility company National Grid. a. Furnish and install new pad mount transformer. b. Furnish, install, and connect new primary cables . c. Furnish and install new utility riser pole. d. Furnish and connect new utility meter. e. Furnish current transformers for utility meter. 3. The following work at the Stearns Meadow Water Treatment Plant will be performed by the natural gas utility company Eversource a. Furnish and install new gas service. b. Furnish and connect new utility meter. 4. The following Work at the existing Old Oaken Bucket Raw Water Pump Station, for Alternate A if awarded by Owner, will be performed by the electric utility company National Grid. a. Furnish pole mounted transformer. b. Furnish overhead 480V secondary cables to existing pole. c. Perform 480V secondary terminations. d. Furnish current transformers for utility meter. e. Furnish utility meter. 5. The following Work at the existing Old Oaken Bucket Raw Water Pump Station, for Alternate A if awarded by Owner, will be performed by the natural gas utility company Eversource. a. Furnish and install gas service to the new natural gas generator 6. The following Work at the existing Old Oaken Bucket Water Treatment Plant, for Alternate B if awarded by Owner, will be performed by the electrical utility company National Grid. a. Disconnect electrical service to the Old Oaken Bucket Water Treatment Plant Processes and appurtenances associated with demolition D. Existing conditions and Site data: per the Drawings and Section 00 31 00.
