The Air Force Metrology and Calibration Program is considering a purchase of a SPRT. This procurement is for 25 Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometers (SPRTs) to replace broken or condemned SPRTs in the Air force Metrology Calibration (AFMETCAL) Program Exchange Standard Pool. The SPRT is a 4-wire, pure Platinum, strain-free resistance thermometer, in a hermetically sealed, dry-air filled, Quartz sheath. It is used as the 'standard' instrument for interpolating the International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS-90). The temperature range shall be at least -200 to 660 degrees Celsius (deg C), and the accuracy shall be +/-0.01 deg C or better. The Quartz sheath shall be at least 450 mm in length. This SPRT shall have a Triple Point of Water resistance reading of 25.5 Ohms and shall have its resistance sensor wound from approximately 61 cm of 0.075 mm Platinum wire. The change in resistance shall approximately be 0.1 Ohm for every 1 deg C of temperature change. The NAICS code assigned to this acquisition is 334515 with a size standard of 750 employees.
