The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), Bureau of State Parks, Sinnemahoning State Park requires the removal of declining spruce plantations in the 40 Maples Day Use Area. This work is to restore a native floodplain community, adding habitat value, reducing operation conflicts created by declining spruce, and improving the aesthetics of the area. The removal specifications entail felling declining spruce and other conifer species, disposition of the forest material with the highest end use achievable for the salvaged forest growth, and restoration of the site as necessary to establish the specified seed mix. The services shall include, but are not limited to furnishing all labor, equipment materials, and superintendence for the tree removal and seeding as per the following specifications. A mandatory site inspection will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 26, 2021. Prospective bidders should meet at the 40 Maples Day Use Area, on Park Road, for a conducted tour of the project site. If unable to attend the organized inspection, additional opportunities to view the site can be arranged prior to bid opening by contacting Park Maintenance Supervisor, Matt Streich at 814-647-8401 or [email protected] Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. All prospective bidders must attend to be eligible to bid on this contract and should sign-in to acknowledge attendance. A Road Use Security of $27,500 in the form of certified, cashier’s, or treasurer’s check, postal money order, cash deposit, bond, or other form of surety acceptable to the Bureau is required. The amount for bonding is determined by the following: a minimum of $10,000.00 per mile, rounded up to the next whole mile for paved roads, plus $7,500.00 for each bridge used.
