The Minnesota National Guard is seeking speakers/facilitators/trainers to participate in the the Minnesota National Guard's SIO/R2 course.  The speaker/facilitator/trainer must be able to meet the below requirements:

1) Currently Serving Service Member or has previous service in the US Military.

2) Professional, engaging, appropriate humor, and genuine  

3) Possesses personal life experience and adversity with mental illness, substance abuse, rough childhood or adolescence, poor adult decisions based off of life adversities, and survived a suicide attempt.

4) Currently stable in recovery, demonstrated resilience, and proven ability to adapt and overcoming adversity through own personal mental illness, substance abuse, poor adult decision making based off of life adversities, and survived suicide attempt.

5) Provide life story, training, and curriculum based off of personal experience with 2-3 interactive exercises and 2-3 deliverables that can be replicated from participants back to assigned unit and participants family and civilian life.

6) Speaking, training, and curriculum goal: Expand a vision of hope for recovery that comes from those who have lived experience with mental illness and substance abuse issues. Inspire adults to want to understand how to overcome adversity and assist other adults and children to overcome adversity to instill resiliency. Combat stigma, end suicide, and instill resiliency through sharing own personal story, delivering vital content, and provide replicated message through deliverables and participant exercise.
