PROJECT DESCRIPTIONThe intent of this contract is to Decommission 3 Forest Service Roads (FSR). Project roads are FSR 6410, 6412 and 6067 on the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, Skykomish Ranger District. Construction consists of decommissioning existing roads and converting one of them to trail. Work includes but is not limited to; existing culvert removal and disposal, excavation, roadway obliteration, removal and reinstallation of road closure berm, roadway re-contouring, roadway shoulder pullback, access road construction, then removal, across multiple slide locations. Disturbed areas will be seeded and mulched and/or revegetated using onside slash materials. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation and supplies, and perform all work required according with drawings and specifications of the contract. The Contractor shall assume all risk, loss, damage, or expense arising out of prosecution of the work, except as otherwise provided in the contract.
PROJECT LOCATIONSAll project roads are located on the Skykomish Ranger District. Project roads are located in 2 separate areas of the District. In T25N, R11E, Sec 16 and 17 are FSR 6410 from MP 3.6 to MP3.94, and FSR 6410 at MP 0.01. For access drive approx. 31 miles East of Monroe, WA on Hwy 2. Turn right onto FSR 64 (Old Cascade Highway) for approximately 1 mile to the intersection of FSR 6410. Travel south on FSR 6410 to the beginning of the project site at MP 3.6. Located in a separate area of the District in T26N, R12E, Section 22 is FSR 6067 from MP 0.00 to MP 3.22. From the intersection at State Hwy 2 and FSR 64, continue east on State Hwy 2 for another 6.2 miles to the intersection with FSR 6066 and travel 7 miles to the end of the road at the Alpine Baldy TH. FSR 6067 and project work begins at the TH. District maps showing the project road systems are available for viewing at the district office in Skykomish, Washington. Project areas can be accessed via, paved and single lane gravel forest roads.

PROJECT PLANS
The project plans are attached for review purposes only, but they will be incorporated into the solicitation when formally publicized in fifteen (15) calendar days when the presolicitation notice requirement is met.
OTHER REMARKS
Project Roads contain areas of steep side slopes with washouts. These washouts require some amount of road reconstruction across them to access other project work areas. Contractors are advised to inspect these sites and determine if they feel comfortable constructing access, pioneer type roads across each site prior to proposal submission. No work will be accomplished beyond November 1, 2015 when the project will be shutdown for winter weather. The project will resume in the summer 2016. No additional mobilization will be granted for this shutdown period.
