The Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National Forest intends to acquire by contract road decommisioning and storage of forest roads on the Skykomish Ranger District.  Project work consists of the following major items of work: culvert removal and disposal, excavation, roadway obliteration, side-cast pullback, road closures, re-establishment of stream channels, and seeding and mulching of disturbed areas.

The project is located on the Skykomish Ranger District of the Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National Forest FSR 68 M.P. 5.3 in T 25 N, R 12 E, Sections 6,7,8,9,16,17,18,19,29,and 30.  From the Skykomish Ranger Station off of Highway 2, the project site may be reached by travelling east on Highway 2 for 0.5 miles then turning south onto FSR 68, Foss River Road.  Continue on FSR 68 for approximately 5.3 miles to the intersection with FSR 68 and 6800-010, which is the first road on the project.

Estimated price range is between $100,000 and $250,000.  Performance and Payment Bonds are required.  Davis Bacon wage rates apply to this project.

Period for performance is from July 15, 2012 with a contract time of 150 days.

Thr government will proceed to issue a solicitation as a Request for Proposals.  This acquisition is 100% set aside for small business concerns.  Offerors will be evaluated on the basis of: (1) the merits of the offer; (2) the risk associated with the offeror's experience; past performance; managers, key personnel, & subcontractors; use of biopreferred products; price realism; and our level of confidence in the offeror (LOCAR).  Contract award willl be to the offerors whose offer, conforming to the solicitation, is the best value to the government.    

The solicitation will be available on or about May 31, 2012.
