NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS CITY OF QUINCY, ILLINOIS Sealed bids for the South 18th - Adams to State Water & Sewer Improvements (MU0029) Project in the City of Quincy, Adams County, Illinois, described herein will be received at the office of the City Clerk, Suite 129, 730 Maine Street, City Hall, Quincy, Illinois 62301 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 20, 2024, and at that time publicly opened and read aloud in the City Hall Council Chambers. The City of Quincy’s MU0029 Project consists of installing a new 8” water main from Payson Avenue to the alley south of State Street, storm sewer and intersection improvements at the intersections of South 18th & Ohio and South 18th & State, lead water service replacements, and sewer repairs along South 18th and related items. Plans and specifications are available online at www.quincyil.gov/bids and may be examined at the office of Department of Utilities & Engineering, City Hall, 730 Maine Street, Quincy, Illinois 62301. All bids shall be accompanied by either a bid bond on the “Proposal Bid” form contained in the proposal, executed by a corporate surety company satisfactory to the city of Quincy, or a bank cashier’s check, an irrevocable letter of credit or a properly certified check for not less than 5 percent of the amount bid, or for the amount listed in the specifications. The City Council of Quincy reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities. No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening of the bids is past. Bidders are notified that not less than the prevailing wage rate as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor shall be paid to all workers performing work under this contract.
