NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed bids for the SOUTH 12 STREET STORM SEWER REPLACEMENT Project in the City of Quincy, Adams County, Illinois, described herein will be received at the office of the City Clerk, 730 Maine Street, Quincy, Illinois 62301 until 11:00 AM local time, Wednesday, August 23, 2023 and at that time publicly opened and read aloud in the City Hall Council Chamber. The project consists of furnishing and installing approximately two hundred (211) lineal feet of 18” PVC sewer pipe and two (2) precast concrete manholes; connecting storm sewer to existing combined box sewer; removal of existing pavements and restoration with Portland cement concrete (PCC) patches; removal and replacement of PCC sidewalk; removal and replacement of a brick manhole; lawn surface restoration; and related improvements. Plans and specifications are available online at www.quincyil.gov/bids and may be examined at the office of the Department of Utilities & Engineering, City Hall, 730 Maine Street, Quincy, Illinois 62301. All bids shall be accompanied by either a bid bond on the “Proposal Bid” form contained in the proposal, executed by a corporate surety company satisfactory to the city of Quincy, or a bank cashier’s check, an irrevocable letter of credit or a properly certified check for not less than 5 percent of the amount bid, or for the amount listed in the specifications. The City Council of Quincy reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities. No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening of the bids is past.
