Requirements Description: The ENCODER, VMS is the Vehicle Motion Sensor (VMS). It is mounted inside the left wheel hub and sends input to the Internal Navigation System (INU) during movement. Basically, it transmits the distance traveled to the Fire Control Computer. This part is only used on the M119A3.

The Government does not have the pertinent technical data to enable competitive re-procurement. The Government does not own the necessary intellectual property data rights to the pertinent technical data to enable competitive re-procurement. This is not a development effort.

This survey is published in compliance with FAR Part 10, (Market Research). The purpose of this is to canvass the industry for any possible other sources. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals. Submission of any information in response to this market is purely voluntary. The Government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred in responding or in any subsequent exchange of information.
