The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ), CPHST-AQI Laboratory located in Coral Gables, FL, intends to issue a sole source Purchase Order award to GERSTEL, INC. located in Linthicum, MD for a GERSTEL MPS (Multi-Purpose Sampler) under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). The GERSTEL MSP will be used by the National Traps and Lures (T&L) program along with the Center for Plant Health Science and Technology (CPHST) for developing methodology for the evaluation of the active ingredient content and release rate of identified lures.
The GERSTEL MPS is the only system that can accommodate all of the following capabilities needed to develop the requested methodology in one system. Capabilities include: liquid extraction, headspace GC, SPME and Multi-fiber exchange (MFX), dynamic headspace (DHS), thermal extraction of liquids and solids, GERSTEL Twister® analysis, automated solid phase extraction (SPE), and dispersive solid phase extraction (DPX). The GERSTEL MPS system can also be fully integrated with the existing Agilent 6890 GC/MS equipped with Chemstation software already in existence at the CPHST-AQI laboratory where work will be conducted. Once methodology is developed, the GERSTEL MPS will be utilized in evaluating lures at the request of the T&L Program as a means of meeting their quality assurance objectives in evaluating lures prior to procurement and field use.
The anticipated Purchase Order value is not-to-exceed $102,114.00. This notice is for informational purposes only. No formal solicitation will be issued.
