The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), intends to award a sole source purchase order to Luminex of Riverside, CA for one year maintenance for Rimage CD Writer software and hardware. The purchase order will be under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 6.301-1. The anticipated award date is July 28, 2011.
This notice is not a request for quote. No award will be made on the basis of quotes received in response to this notice. A determination not to compete this procurement based on any response to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government. No solicitation will be issued for this sole source requirement and no other information will be provided.
The following sole source justification is provided:
Based on market research and information obtained from the manufacturer, Rimage CD Writer directly, for hardware and software maintenance support vendors in the Washington DC metro area, Luminex is the only provider of service in the area.
