Title: Software and Hardware Maintenance for the Virtual Reality CAVE System
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Protective Technology Branch (PTB), Division of Safety Research (DSR) intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Mechdyne Corporation, 11 East Church Street, Marshalltown, IA 50158 for software and hardware maintenance for the virtual reality CAVE system for one year with the option of a second year if funds are available.
Clin 1: Hardware maintenance
Clin 2: Software maintenance
Statement of Work

Virtual Reality CAVE Maintenance

Annual Maintenance for the Mechdyne CAVE System.
Includes:
2 preventative maintenance visits each year
4 system support visits to repair any system issues
Mechdyne Pivot services
Parts warrant that will cover all components that were provided to NIOSH as part of their original system purchase and software warranty
24/7 Unlimited Phone and Email Support,
Access to the dedicated Mechdyne Service Team.
Access to RITA,
Emergency On-site Response Time of 72 hours.
Priority Repair Service.

Period of Performance:
08/01/2014 through 07/31/2015
Option Year if funds are available:
8/1/2015 through 7/31/2016.

To be invoiced quarterly in arrears.

This contract action is for a product for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 10 U.S.C 2304(c) (1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.
The notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
