The Unified Police Department of Greater Salt Lake (UPD) is inviting your company to give our department a quote for SMITH & WESSON M&P 2.0 OPTIC READY FIREARMS. The UPD is seeking to purchase the Smith & Wesson Firearms for use in UPD’s jurisdiction. The purpose of this bid is to purchase 80 firearms immediately, with the option to purchase additional Smith & Wesson products on an as needed basis. The contract will be awarded to the most responsive, responsible vendor submitting the lowest total price for the Smith & Wesson Firearms listed in Exhibit A as well as shipping and handling. The Unified Police Department may reject any or all bids if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Unified Police Department. After award, the first initial order must be delivered to the Unified Police Department by June 1, 2022, unless it is agreed upon in writing by both parties. The contract resulting from this solicitation will become effective on the date of execution for a term of three (3) years and may be renewed for (2) additional one-year terms. Renewals will be initiated at the sole discretion of the Unified Police Department and completed in writing with mutual consent. Written questions shall be submitted electronically through U3P/Sciquest, the State of Utah’s Purchasing Platform, by the due date and time posted. Changes to the specifications will be released in an addendum to the “INVITATION FOR BID.” If a vendor does not have U3P/Sciquest, they may email questions to [email protected]. Emailed questions will also be posted on U3P/Sciquest by UPD, with the answer, so that all vendors can see all questions and answers. Questions will not be accepted after Monday, December 6th, 2021, at noon MST. Bids can be submitted via U3P/Sciquest or emailed to Amanda Watrous at [email protected] by Wednesday, December 8th, 2021, at 4:00 pm MST. No responses will be accepted after the closing date and time. Due to Covid-19, we will not be accepting hard copies at this time. Applications must include: A cover letter: The bid shall have a cover letter indicating the business firm’s willingness to enter into an agreement with Unified Police Department. An officer of the company who has the authority to commit their firm to the proposed project must sign this letter. Bids will include the full name, legal status (corporation, state of incorporation, partnership, proprietorship, etc.), business address of the Offeror, email address, and telephone number. The bid must be signed in ink by a principal of the business who is authorized to execute the contract. The name of the principal and his/her business title will be included in the signature element in either type or print. Documentation proving that the vendor is an authorized distributor and authorized to sell Smith & Wesson to law enforcement agencies in Utah. Completed Exhibit A including any required documentation, and all prices and fees. All bidders are expected to thoroughly read all documents contained in the Invitation for Bid including any and all attachments.
