The project is the LCLS-II Utility Relocation Project. Existing underground utilities between SLAC buildings 901 and 950 are in conflict with future construction and must be relocated. Baseline performance includes relocation of 80 foot section of 12 KV ductbank from 15 feet below grade to 6 feet below grade. 80 foot section of 18 inch cooling tower supply and return lines, 8 inch domestic water line and 2 inch low conductivity water line line to be raised from 20 feet below grade to 6 feet below grade.

The subcontractor will provide all materials, labor, equipment and project management support. Work scope includes demolition of existing structures, backfill, construction of new ductbank, installation of new 12 KV cabling and piping. The subcontractor shall provide temporary power to affected substations and buildings, as necessary. The subcontractor shall support all required testing and commissioning activities.

Due to ongoing SLAC Beamline experiments all excavation and subsequent field work must be performed and completed during the summer shutdown period from August 6 to September 29, 2013.

Optional performance includes a) add set of isolation valves to 18 inch line. B) reroute 100 feet of sanitary sewer. c) complete removal of decommissioned chilled and heating water piping. d) reroute 400 feet of 3 inch and 4 inch water piping.

Pursuant to the contemplated Request for Proposal, the subcontractor shall provide evidence of successful past performance on similar projects with similarly stringent timelines and complexity of work.
The subcontractor shall provide a detailed schedule and narrative describing a work plan that will lead to successful completion of the work on schedule, including allowances for contingencies.
The subcontractor shall provide evidence of robust and successful quality control and safety programs.
The subcontractor will be expected to demonstrate that all necessary resources will be available during the August and September 2013 construction period and possess a current California Contractor's License.
