The purpose of this announcement is to express the intent of the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (‘JTA’ or ‘Authority’) to award a Sole Source Contract/Purchase Order with Terms and Conditions to Rankin USA, Inc., hereinafter referred to as the ‘Rankin’ or ‘Contractor’. Rankin re-engineered the main contact for the Jacksonville Monorail (Skyway). The existing train contact is obsolete and due to the age of the part, the original vendors (Bombardier/Alstom) no longer support this item. Rankin was able to back engineer the part which is part number IORC125-30-SD and holds the exclusive re-engineered design. This purchase is for the entire active Skyway Fleet rolling stock. There are six (6) active trains, and every train has (3) main contacts each totaling eighteen (18) contacts which are an imperative part of the electric train system that feeds the motors, inverters, and the APU’s for the JTA, Skyway Train System. JTA would request using this vendor for as long as can be contractually approved and without exceeding JTA contract compliance standards.
