* * * Non-Mandatory Pre Bid Has Passed * * * The Marine Conservation and Technology Facility will provide necessary research space for marine conservation and associated innovative technology development. The final buildout of facility will provide approximately 53,300 GSF. Building D Scope of work: The project will completely renovate the old Building D and provide separate and shared lab space for (7) Principle Investigators. Two (2) teaching laboratories and a support office will be located on Level 1. The project will also include supporting offices and lounge space for faculty and graduate students alike. Three (3) conference rooms will be added with commanding views to the south, as well as the creation of a wet staging room and hazardous materials storage area. The basement will be equipped with seawater infrastructure to support future research aquariums. Building A Scope of Work: A classroom for 100 students will be added at Level 2, on top of the existing foundations. An outdoor terrace will surround the classroom for students, staff and for special events. A visualization lab will be located on Level 2, opposite another large Conference Room. Level 2 will also boast a plating kitchen that will be finished for catering University events on site. Infrastructure will also be prepared in this kitchen to receive a full cook line for future demonstration cooking. On Level 3, a cold shell space will be provided for future vendor buildout as a Café. Adjacent to this on Level 3 will be an exterior café terrace that will provide outdoor seating and venue opportunities. Sitework Improvements: Additional improvements to the project site will include maximizing onsite parking for faculty, staff, and visitors by providing a total of (53) parking spaces. An outdoor terrace with roof garden will be constructed over the lower parking area to accommodate seating. A new outdoor utility pen will be created to house mechanical equipment.
