This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested.
 
The National Institute of Health, Clinical Center (CC) intends to award a Fixed Price Purchase Order to Siemens Medical Solutions, USA, Inc. 40 Liberty Blvd, Malvern, PA, 19355-1418, on a sole source basis for service and extended maintenance of the Siemens Ultrasound equipment in the Rehabilitation Medicine Department, NIH Clinical Center. Manufacturer will warranty equipment only if serviced by current Siemens certified service providers.

Equipment requiring extended warranty and maintenance, currently in use:

 Acuson S2000 Ultrasound Machine

Period of Performance:
The Period of Performance is estimated to begin sometime in July, 2019, so the estimated Base period of performance is 7/15/2019-7/14/2020.
Option Year 1: 7/15/2020-7/14/2021
Option Year 2: 7/15/2021-7/14/2022
Option Year 3: 7/15/2022-7/14/2023
Option Year 4: 7/15/2023-7/14/2024

EXTENDED MAINTENANCE SERVICE Specifications: Maintenance/repair will be performed in the Rehabilitation Medicine Department without patients present. The room will be determined upon scheduling a visit. The contractor must be able to perform the on-site visit within one week of being contacted in order to prevent downtime. Remote access to the ultrasound machine via software may not be possible due to DCRI policy. Labor, travel, and parts must be covered by the maintenance agreement. Telephone technical support shall be available during normal business hours. Annual onsite maintenance must be covered.

INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE: The Contracting Officer's Representative will inspect and accept goods and may perform operational tests to ensure the equipment performs in accordance with the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications.

This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12 in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements in FAR Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
