The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is issuing a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.  This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, data is being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.  The solicitation document ,  incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 05-26.  The North  American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 423430.  This will be a firm fixed price contract for the following : Four (4) NX13100, NX Mach 3 Product Design and Four (4) NX 13100 Maintenance.  This software must be compatible with the current software and hardware that the FBI presently owns.  Siemens Government Services, Inc., is the sole provider for this software and maintenance.  The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Siemens Government Services, Inc., Milford, OH 45150.  The proposed contract action is for product and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302.  Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement by submitting a quotation to include product/functional specifications/descriptions and pricing to:  FBI, 935 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W., Attn: Mabel Comfort, Room 8504, Washington, D.C.  20535-001 or via e-mail at: [email protected] within 10 days of the date this notice is published.  This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.  However, all data received within the timeframe specified after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government.  A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.  Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose  of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  Destination: FOB.  The following FAR clauses and provisions are applicable and can be obtained at: http://www.acqnet.gov/far.  FAR provisions 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Item (APR 2008); 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications -Commercial Item (NOV 2007); 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to implement statues or Executive Orders-Commercial Items (APR 2008).  No telephone inquires will be accepted.
