SHRUB PLANTING CASTLE ROCK and BLACK PINE 2010
IN APPROXIMATELY 1 DAY, THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS COMMERCIAL SERVICE PROJECT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO VIEW AND PRINT.
The purpose of this contract is to plant approximately 11,200 Government-furnished seedlings of bitterbrush (Purshia tridentata), chokecherry (Prunus virginiana), shrubby cinquefoil (Dasiphora fruticosa), Wood's rose (Rosa woodsii), snowberry (Symphoricarpos oreophilus), mountain big sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata var. vaseyana), and low sage (A. arbuscula). The seedlings will be planted in 3 locations (see Table 1 below and attached maps) on the Ketchum and Minidoka Ranger Districts (RDs). On the Ketchum RD, planting will occur on approximately 75 acres within the Castle Rock Fire perimeter. On Minidoka RD, planting will occur on approximately 8 acres within the Black Pine Fire perimeter in Black Pine Canyon on the Black Pine Division southeast of Burley, and on approximately 2 acres near the Old North Road on the Cassia Division south of Twin Falls. Planting will be done by manual methods. Protective covers will be installed on all the bitterbrush, low sage, and sagebrush seedlings to increase survivability.
This contract is a Performance Based, firm-fixed price contract.
