The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support- Philadelphia is conducting market research on commercial 20' and 40' shipping and storage containers, used by the U.S military and other federal government agencies within the Contiguous United States, Alaska, Hawaii, the outlying areas, and throughout Europe, Africa, and the Pacific. DLA Troop Support currently provides this support for its customers in Federal Stock Class (FSC) 8150-Commercial Containers. DLA is seeking input from potential small and large businesses.

The Government requires standard 20' and 40' containers. Product lines will include:

8150-01-501-2741-- 20'x 8'x 8'6" Full One Side Opening, End Doors
8150-01-513-4913-- 20'x 8'x 8'6" Two Full Side Openings, No End Doors
8150-01-513-6282-- 20'x 8'x 8'6" End Doors on Both Ends, New or One Time Used
8150-01-514-8414-- 20'x 8'x 8'6" End Doors on Both Ends and One Side

The Government anticipates that any resultant solicitation will be for multiple award indefinite quantity type contracts with post-award competition of delivery orders. The acquisition may be for a period of 5 years and is estimated at approximately $60 million annually. However, this estimate is based on current information available to the Contracting Officer, subject to change, and is not a guarantee.

This inquiry is issued for the purpose of market research only and the Government is in no way obligated to purchase any material because of this inquiry. No information provided in response to this inquiry will be considered binding between the vendor and the Government and the Government will not pay for any information submitted.
