SOLE SOURCE ACQUISITION FOR MROD SERVICE & REPAIR

The 4th Contracting Squadron, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC intends to award a sole source purchase order to Katadyn North America, Inc. Required service is for the repair and maintenance of 60 MROD 35LA1s. Items to be purchased are:
CLIN 0001: QTY (60 EA) SERVICE AND REPAIR OF NSN 4610-01-313-6086, MANUAL REVERSE OXMOSIS DESALINATOR (MROD) LA351, INCLUDING RETURN TRANSPORTATION.

The Statement of Objective is:

a. DESCRIPTION OF ACTION: Seymour Johnson AFB intends to purchase servicing and repair of sixty (60) MROD 35LA1s.

b. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: Conduct services which consist of a salt water flush and pressure test, fresh water flush and biocide dip, rebuild of pumps as needed, repair internal leaks and replace seals, replace membrane as needed install new hoses and clean and inspect in accordance with commercial practices.

This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract lies solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement. The closing date for this synopsis is 14 Sep 09 at 12:00 P.M.
