The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Guralp Systems Limited, Aldermaston, Reading Berkshire, RG7 8EA, United Kingdom, to purchase seven (7) CMG-6TD (CD) Seismometer; 30s to 100 Hz frequency response, 2400 (2x1200) V/m/s output sensitivity; Hard anodized aluminum casing, and seven (7) accessory Pack CMG-6TD (CD).

Guralp Systems Limited provides broadband seismometer interface and digitizing units matching the mechanical, electrical, and software specifications of the existing Guralp seismometer units already in possession at NIOSH for use in mine seismic monitoring networks. No other vendors supplies units that are compatible or interchangeable with the items requested.

The justification for this non-competitive action is in accordance with 13.106-1(b)(1), only one source is reasonably available which states that, "For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold. (i) Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capabilities to satisfy this requirement should submit a Capability Statement demonstrating their abilities to meet this requirement.
