4.1 Scope of Work This specification outlines the requirements for providing, accepting, and assembling a wrought iron gate system at the Pasadena City Yards. When assembled and installed, gate must function according to specifications, requiring no added components or adjustments after the City takes control of it. BSFMD electrical staff will be onsite to test and inspect that the gate functionality according to specifications. The installation of the gates should take nine calendar-days or less. Installation of the gate system must include delivery of all components to the jobsite and assembling and installation of same. Gate system will be tested and determined to be in full working order before it is turned over to the City. 4.2 Site Survey: Contractor must survey the jobsite before bidding. 4.3 Demo and Removal: Contractor will demolish, remove and haul away existing chain link fence and gates. Demolish existing footings, one side at a time, and dispose per EPA guidelines. 4.4 Gate Specifications: 4.4.1 Fabricate and install four (4) fixed side panels, approximate size: 6-feet by 9-feet and three (3) fixed side panels, approximate size: 4-feet by 9-feet. 4.4.2 Fabricate and install two Pedestrian Gates, approximate size: 5-feet by 9-feet with hydraulic door closers with covers. Rails shall be 2-inch by 2-inch with 1-inch spear tip pickets on 5-inch centers. Stub down ¾-inch PVC for future electric strike. 4.4.3 Fabricate and install two (2) 20-feet by 9-feet hinge swing gates. Gates shall be 6-inch square tubing and 11 gauge steel with 2-inch by 2-inch frame rails and 1-inch spear tip picket on 5-inch centers. Hinges will have “Zert” fittings. 4.4.4 All hardware and fencing is to-be primed and painted satin black. 4.4.5 All posts will be capped. 4.4.6 Fabricate and install two (2) operator cages with top and front hinges for service access. 4.4.7 Dig, form, and pour concrete for two (2) new operators, footing for pedestrian gates and fixed panels. Install two (2), ¾-inch stub-outs for low and high voltage wiring. 4.4.8 Fabricate and install four (4) steel Access Control Goosenecks. 4.4.9 Install two (2) All-o-Matic SL350 1hp DC Swing Gate Operator. Two (2) photo eyes with cover, one (1) Knox Fire Box, two (2) 365-day timers, and four (4) Reno AX-3 loop detectors and harness. Cut, lay and seal four (4) ground loops. 4.4.10 Alternate option for item listed in 4.4.9. Operator can be Power Master CSWI 1hp 120 volt swing gate operator. Four (4) loop detectors, two (2) photo eyes, 365-day timer and one (1) Fire Knox Box. Cut, lay and seal four (4) ground loops. 4.4.11 Cut, lay, and seal four (4) ground loops. The vendor will supply all fittings and conduit. Vendor has to stub from the base of the Gate Opener a piece of conduit, or channel a way to the loops the vendor previously cut. 4.5 Location and Installation: City of Pasadena City Yards spanning driveway and sidewalks behind sentry kiosk. 4.6 Delivery of Equipment: Contractor will be on the jobsite at the time of delivery to accept equipment. 4.7 Start-up and Programing: Training will be given to assigned city employees along with operation and maintenance manuals for electrical equipment. 4.8 Work Schedules: Working hours are normally Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm. Scheduling any work before or after hours will need pre-approval by the city. 4.9 Electrical for Gate System: City of Pasadena Electrical staff shall install conduit to ¾-inch stub from Operator, wire and circuit breaker power for Operator. City of Pasadena shall be responsible for access control system, and conduit for access installation. 4.10 Warranty: Warranty on all parts and labor shall be one year from the date of acceptance by City of Pasadena. 4.11 Service Plan: Submit proposal for a 3-year maintenance contract after warranty expires. Service Plan to be scheduled every three months from date of original installation, and is to include lube, clean and adjust gate
