This notice announces the intent by the U.S. Army Medical Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), 820 Chandler Street, Fort Detrick, Maryland 21702, intends to award a sole source contract to Meso Scale Discovery (MSD) for a SECTOR S 600 Imager Workstation. The SECTOR S 600 Imager Workstation capable for the movement of electrical charge digital camera system for precise light for super count of a detection technology for a main responsive of imaging of the 96 and 384 well plates for the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID). The proposed contract action is for an analytical equipment supply for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only source under the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(2). FAR 13.501(a)(1)(i): Only one source reasonable available.

The USAMRIID has a requirement for a SECTOR S 600 Imager Workstation to include a limited, one-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship, data analysis software, computer, Windows 7, and flat screen monitor, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), robotic manual adapter, stack tube with 20-30 plate capacity, compatible with single-spot and Multi-Spot 96 well plates, compatible with single-spot and Multi-Spot 384 well plates, and three (3) 12-month options for maintenance to continue necessary research. The first year warranty is covered under the warranty being provided by the vendor without cost to the Government.

An RFQ will be issued on a sole source basis. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) for this requirement is 334516 and the size standard 1000 employees.
This announcement fulfills the synopsis requirements under FAR 5.102(a)(6) and 5.203(a). USAMRAA intends to publish a solicitation no sooner than 15 days after publishing this synopsis. The Special Request for information is not a request for competitive quotes. Information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement is in the best of the Government. If no written responses are received by the date listed below, which reflects at least fifteen (15) days after the publication of this notice, the solicitation will be issued as sole source.
