The work for which proposals are requested will generally consist of, but shall not be limited to, the following in various locations along and within Milwaukee Avenue: Turf mowing, Fertilizer/Herbicide Application, Sidewalk/Concrete Surface Edging, Shrub Material and Bed Fertilizer, Bed Maintenance, Groundcover/Vines/ Perennial Bed Maintenance, Shrub Pruning, Tree/ Ornamentals Maintenance, Fall Clean Up, Insect/Disease Control, Irrigation Maintenance, Inspection, and Winterization, Mulch Installation, Seasonal Color Amendments, and Installation and Removal of Holiday Lighting. Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond, Bank Cashier's Check, or Certified Check in the amount of FIVE (5) percent of the total bid amount, made payable to the City of Prospect Heights shall accompany the bid. The City of Prospect Heights reserves the right to accept or reject any bid, to award all or part of a contract, and to make such awards as are in the best interests of the City. Factors other than price which will be considered in awarding or rejecting bids shall include the results of reference contacts, and the quality of the bidder's performance on prior City projects, if any, in the judgment of the City Council and City staff.
