The Project consists of the remodeling of approximately 3,250 gross square feet (GSF) on the first floor of Brown Hall at St. Cloud State University for the creation of a new Autism Discovery Center. Brown Hall was originally constructed in 1960 and underwent a full remodel in 2008. The existing room layouts, for the most part, will remain in their current configuration and be repurposed for clinical rooms, observation rooms, and an activity space. The Work will include, but is not limited to: demolition of a limited amount of non-structural metal wall partitions and adjacent portions of acoustical panel ceilings, removal of existing flooring throughout; construction of non-structural metal wall partitions, expansion of hollow metal framed interior glazing, and one-way glass windows, installation of flooring, application of wall protection finishes and repainting, and replacement of existing lighting with LED fixtures. The new restroom requires full renovation and modifications to M & E systems. New Audio-Visual Technology will be installed for active supervision of clinical lab space. The project will be constructed in one phase. The Owner intends to use the Design/Bid/Build delivery method for this project.
