The NASA/SSC Office of Procurement intends to issue a brand name, firm-fixed price contract for the procurement of a FARO Technologies, Inc. ScanArm with support accessories at the NASA John C. Stennis Space Center. The total estimated period of performance or lead-time for delivery for this project is not to exceed eight (8) weeks after receipt of order (ARO). There will be only one award made for this requirement. This is a brand name Simplified Acquisition Procedure of Commercial Items in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 12 and 13. The Government believes only the FARO Technologies, Inc.'s ScanArm will satisfy the Agency's requirements. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quote (RFQ) for competitive proposals, but a notice of the Government's intent to issue the requirement as brand name. Interested organizations may submit the capabilities of their product(s) to perform the effort, in writing, to the identified point of contact(s) not later than 3:00 p.m. (local time) on August 8, 2016. Statements of capabilities must contain sufficient details to review vendor's product capabilities. Submissions will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a more openly competitive basis. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition or non-brand name basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
