United States Forest Service requires aerial imagery services for direct digital acquisition of 30cm (12 inch) resolution, stereo-coverage of the following areas, totaling approximately 5,560 square miles: San Juan National Forest, Colorado; Comanche National Grasslands, Colorado; and Cimarron National Grasslands, Kansas. Imagery acquisition must be accomplished using a digital sensor that collects four-band multi-spectral natural color (RGB) and color infrared (CIR) simultaneously. The project will have an approximate flying season of June 15, 2011 through October 10, 2011. Upon contract award, the contractor is required to create and submit the proposed flight plan for Government approval prior to the notice to proceed. Contract deliverables include: uncompressed 16-bit georeferenced TIFFs in a frame-based format, stereo block files, ABGPS and IMU data, footprint shapefile, and other data files to be due 60 days after the end of the flying season. The solicitation will include option items for orthorectified imagery. The solicitation number (RFP)USDA-FS-1-11 will be issued on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, with proposals due Monday, April 25, 2011. This solicitation will be issued under FAR 15, full and open competition procurement and is subject to the Availability of Funds clause (FAR 52.232-18).
